I think that as a teacher we need to start by encouraging our kids to take a leadership role in their mathematics. To do this we need to really teach them the value of math and how useful it can tilt be. By encouraging them and by using activities which help hem enjoy math we can accomplish this goal. I think that from here it is important that we take a leadership role in the education of other students if we can. If there are issues within our math departments I think that we should be a leader in fixing those. It might be best to start with just the other classes in your grade or your specific school but with time maybe even take it to the next level. I think it is really important to expand not only your students interest in math but also other students around you when possible.
